The Invention of HitcHinge

One brisk autumn day, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the air grew colder, Andy Assinck found himself facing a familiar dilemma. He had just spent the day laboriously removing docks for the winter season, his fingers swollen, his muscles strained. It was then that inspiration struck.

Andy saw a pressing need for a revolutionary dock coupling system, one that would be self-supporting, self-aligning, and would make the daunting task of installing and removing docks a breeze for everyone. With this vision in mind, he embarked on a journey of innovation.

The Birth of HitcHinge

Andy's dedication led him to experiment with countless designs, tirelessly pursuing the perfect solution. After numerous iterations, he unveiled the HitcHinge—a dock coupler like no other. What set it apart was its ingenious design, with every part self-contained, eliminating the risk of dropping components into the lake during installation.

The HitcHinge system was a game-changer. It not only eliminated the need to work between dock segments but also removed the stress and constant hassle of maintaining loads, elevations, and alignments when inserting or removing pins—challenges inherent in typical dock hinges.

Making Life Easier for Cottage Owners

For cottage owners, the HitcHinge meant valuable time saved and frustration avoided. Coupling docks became as simple as transferring weight from one side to the other, while the HitcHinge effortlessly connected the sections with a few turns of a bolt. With all its parts self-contained, there was no more need to take a swim in search of lost or misplaced components.

The Power of gravity

The HitcHinge harnessed the power of gravity, negating the need for a precarious balancing act between loads and flotation. It countered wind, weight, and waves to connect dock sections securely. Once installed on your dock or ramps, it allowed you to adjust the gap to your preference, creating a worry-free surface while accommodating wave and wind movements.

Enineering Excellence

Comprising two integral parts—the "Hitch" and the "Hinge"—this patented hinge offered silent operation and extended durability with inner bushings. Its design ensured a peaceful waterfront environment,   Our patented bushing is virtually silent & free from annoying knocks and clatters, allowing you to fully enjoy the soothing sounds of nature.
